Welcome to our website. From the time of its genesis Edwin D. Layne and Sons Ltd, now Laynes has been  serving the Vincentian community with its retail and wholesale enterprises. The venture has successfully grown to providing a wider range of merchandise as we cater to your needs. 

This website was set up to better inform you, our valued customers, of our continued drive to serve you, our products and services. Our desire is to use this site to maintain communications with you. We look forward to hearing from you.

Edwin D. Layne and Sons Limited, was founded in 1948 by the husband and wife team of, Edwin Layne from Calliaqua and Clara (nee Nanton) Layne from Edinboro, and has now been in existence for over 60 years. The children of the Laynes family are very much still involved in the management and operation of this entirely Vincentian owned company, catering principally to the domestic market - St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

From its early beginnings as a small dry good department store in Middle Street, the company has grown to a general department store that spans from Middle to Bay Street, and two hardware stores in operation; one on Bay Street and the other on Grandby Street. Layne's also has a new and developing facility at Arnos Vale. We are vendors to retail and wholesale markets as well as local agents for foreign manufacturers.

At our dry goods location, we supply fabric and ready-to-wear clothing for men, women and children as well as a wide range of household, bedroom and decorative materials and items.

At our hardware locations, we carry a full stock of building materials, tools and paints
